Members of the JustEdu project’s team presented 2 papers the XIX BCES Annual International Conference ‘New Challenges to Education. Lessons from Around the World’ on 21 – 25 June 2021 in Sofia, Bulgaria:

• Alexander Gerganov, Petya Ilieva-Trichkova and Pepka Boyadjieva – ‘Why Study More when You Can Bribe: Corruption as a Challenge to Participation in Adult Formal Education’

• Raya Mihaylova – ‘Heuristic Potential of Actor – Network Theory for Studying Digital Technologies in Secondary Education and their Influence on Educational Inequalities’.

The conference was carried out for the second time virtually with nearly 70 presentations. It attracted almost 140 people (registered participants and their co-authors) from all over the world.

The XIX edition of the BCES Conference in 2021 focuses on new challenges to education with a special attention to what lessons people in the field of education have learned.
